TenYears, I apologize as I missed your response. I'll adress it later.
Fernando, I replied to you on page 4, last highlighted response of multiple responses.

At the end of the day a building is but a man made structure that God doesn't reside in and besides it's only as holy as it's use is. In other words, once Jehovah's Witnesses cease to use and operate the building, then it becomes just a building.
from jw.org (while waiting for new bible to download, i clicked on the link for "christian," which asks the following question...).
"are we christians?
we are christians, for the following reasons.
I consider elder, CO, pioneer, etc. more or less labels, not necessarily titles. Furthermore, nobody in the congregation is more elevated than anyone else in the congregation. We all just have different roles and different responsibilities or privileges. A CO can't tell you what to do and neither can an elder, neither can the GB or the Writing Department through the literature. The only thing they can do is provide Bible based counsel or suggestions that we'll take into consideration out of humility and recognition that they're where they are because Jehovah's spirit caused it to be.
for me it was the book!
it opened my eyes.
i started it thinking it would just enlighten me about how the organisation works.
I read a little bit of it, but couldn't stomach too much of it as it's too biased, too one-sided. Definately not a definitive history lesson about the organization. I mean if I want to read the truth about the history of the organization, I'll go to the source, the organization. They've provided the Proclaimers book, and the Faith In Action DVDs. Just like if I want information about a car I'm considering whether or not to purchase, I'll check out the manufacturer's website and promotional literature. How much sense does it make to consider buying a Ford, and then read an account about their operations from a former employee. No, Mr.Franz's account wasn't history, it was his-story.
so, if you haven't become an atheist yet and still hold on to some form of christian based/bible based faith.
tell us one scripture that defines where you are at right now in your spiritual journey.... .
I'd say a combination of Isa 43:10, Psa 83:18, and Matt 24:14.
i received the bootprint of jehovah on my ass 35 years ago.. i've missed a lot of meetings since that time.
well, i can't say i've emotionally "missed" them!.
while writing my book i had cause to reflect on what my life might have been had i not walked out of a kingdom hall for the last time in 1978.. what if i had gone on attending meetings?.
5460 meetings, or the 10,000 or so hours spent at meetings isn't even a drop in the bucket compared to everlasting life.

This is for the opening poster who also sent me a PM. Sometimes zoning laws dictate that a church or a kingdom hall for that matter sell their land to a proprietor that will use the land in the same if not similar manner as it's already being used. I'm not real estate agent or lawyer, but that't what happened in our case. The Kingdom Hall I grew up in, is now run by some Muslims. The congregation we went in with to build a new Kingdom Hall, sold their Hall to another church because zoning laws dictatated that they had to. I'm not familiar with the whys or hows, but that's what happened.
that is cannibalistic.
from page 23 of the march 22, 1974 awake!
that is cannibalistic.
Once again apostates have to find something from 40 years ago to make their point.
80+ branch davidian cult members died in waco, texas.
250,000+ #jehovahswitnesses have died refusing blood.
stop this #cult!
The Governing Body is just shaking in its penny loafers over you people.
i struggled with this question before i got baptised.

SloppyJoe, nobody ever said the organization was infallible. Regardless, Jesus said to keep on the watch, and that's what those faithful brothers have done throughout the years. Let's put it this way. Let's say every day on your commute to work you notice a well dressed man waiting for the bus at the bus stop. You don't pay him that much attention. However, one day your car wont start and being that you're in a hurry, you decide to catch the bus. The same bus you see the well dressed man waiting for. You approach him and ask if the arrival of the bus is imminent? He replies "it should be here soon, possibly in ten minutes but who knows. It could be longer." You wait 10 minutes, and growing impatient, you decide to call your boss and inform him that you're going to use a sick day in effect calling off.
You see, many within the ex-JW community are like that man who called off from work. They focused on the "ten minutes", but not the "it could be longer." The WT if anything is guilty of being too anxious for the end to arrive, but are also counted as righteous for keeping on the watch. The ex-JW community, or rather some, were simply impatient. Too focused on when they would be able to pet hyenas, and frolic in the pumpkin fields with resurrected men and women written about in the Bible. It was never about a love for Jehovah for such ones.
